Broken Promises (Season 2 of Stop The World)
Chapter One
Demi's POV:
"Nice joke, Nick." I said to him, not believing what he justt asked could be true. I mean, he didn't forget me. He coudln't have forgotten me. Could he? No, he couldn't
"What do you mean? Do I seem like I'm joking?" He asked me. I felt my heart stop. Does he actually not remember me? Me? The girl he said he'd love forever. This must be a crazy dream. It has to be, because this cannot actually be happening. "Are you okay?" I looked over at him managed to give him a smile. I slowly sat down in the chair by his bed and closed my eyes. I need to wake up from this horrible nightmare. "You're somebody important in my life, aren't you?" I opened my eyes and looked up at him, my vision blurry. Tears started to fall slowly from my eyes, knowing this was actually happening. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry."
"It wasn't exactly you. I'm fine, really. I guess it's just hard knowing that you actually don't remember me."
"I loved you." I looked at him, thinking maybe he actually did remember. "Right? I was in love with you?"
"Uhm, yeah. We are, or, were dating."
"Oh. I'm really sorry I don't remember you. Uhm, what's your name?"
"Demetria. Just call me Demi, though."
"That's a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." I started to smile a little and I wiped the tears from my eyes.
"Thank you."
"Do you know where everybody else is? Like, my family."
"Right, I should probably call them to let them know you're awake." I grabbed out my cell phone and started to dial Joe's number. When he answered, I told him that they needed to come to the hospital. He sounded worried at first, but I told him it was something good. When the finally got there, they were relieved to see Nick awake, watching some tv. Everyone in the room was so happy but me. He could remember all of his family, but not me. The doctor came in shortly after and asked to speak with Mr. and Mrs.Jonas. When they walked out of the room, I followed with. I wanted to know exactly why Nick couldn't remeber me. I stood around the corner from them, still close enough to hear what was being said.
"That's what the tests say." I could tell by the voice it was the doctor. "We're not exactly sure which things he won't remeber and how long it'll take for his memory to be back again. We do know that he doesn't remember anything about the accident. He probably won't remeber many things from the past few months or so, either. You could always just ask him some questions."
"Thank you, doctor." I heard Mr. Jonas say. I'm not the only thing he doesn't remember. He doesn't remember anything about the accident, that I was in with him. He also doesn't remember things within the past few months. That includes us dating, anything about Adam, and me. He doesn't remember me. They don't even know when he'll remember anything. For all I know, he could never remember me. Unless I make him remember me. I can try to help him remember what was happening between us. I have to make him fall in love with me again. Then, he'll remember me. I walked back to his room and took a seat in one of the chairs. I thought about my idea and how making him fall in love with me might take some time. But, it wouldn't take that much time considering he had been in love with me before. "Nick!" I looked towards the door to see who had just called his name. I was wrong. It may take more time than I thought it would. I forgot one little detail, I would have compettition now.

Chapter Two
Nick's POV:
I looked towards the doorway to see the image of a girl that just happened to make me smile. "Miley." I said to her. She walked into the room and came over to me, giving me a huge hug.
"I heard about what happened and came as soon as I could. How are you feeling?" She asked.
"A little better now. Although, it's nice knowing everybody else knows what happened when I even don't." Miley gave me a confused look.
"You don't know about the car crash?" Car crash? That must be how I ended up in the hospital. Demi has a broken arm, maybe she was in it too.
"Was Demi in it too?" Demi looked over at me and nodded her head a little. I continued to look at her.
"Was I driving?" She nodded her head again. I looked down at my hands in my lap. I was the one who got us in the crash and I don't even remember her. She has a broken arm because of it and I can't even do the simplest thing as to remembering who she is. "I'm sorry." Demi stood up and walked over to me.
"Why are you sorry?" She asked me.
"Because, it's my fault it happened and I can't even remember who you are."
"Nick, it's fine. I don't blame you for what happened." I looked at everyone around me.
"Can I just be alone with Demi for a minute?" Everyone walked out of the room, leaving me and Demi alone. I sat up in the bed more and made room for her. She jumped up next to me and got comfortable. "Can you tell me about it? Tell me about the crash. Tell me things about us."
"Are you sure?" I nodded my head. "Well, we only recently started going out. I don't know how long you've been in love with me. I know I've loved you for awhile. One day..." She told me everything up to the crash. The day at the coffee shop, the night we went for a late night swim, our first kiss, date, 'I love you';everything. She told me about the promises we had made to eachother and how hers was that I wouldn't forget her. She told me all about this Adam guy and how her mom forced her to break us up, which is why we left town. That's when we got into the accident. I was hoping that by telling me this, I would remember. But, I didn't remember any of it. When she was finally done, she looked over at me.
"Wow. I wish I could remember you. It sounds like we really loved eachother." She nodded her head a little. "I'm really sorry, Demi. I want to remember this stuff so bad. Maybe, you could help me a little? You know, remind me or some things every once in awhile." She smile a little.
"Sure thing. I'll always be here for you, Nick. Forever." Forever...How can she keep a promise of forever to me, when I don't even remember it?

Chapter Three
Demi's POV:
After arguing with my mom over the phone, I finally agreed to come home for a little. Although, I'd be back later to see Nick some more. I had to spend every second I could with him to help him remember. I walked through the door and started to head up to my room. I slowly went up the stairs, wanting to just go back to the hospital already. I was just about to walk into my room, when somebody stuck there are out, blocking me. He leaned against the doorframe and looked at me. "Hey, Demi." I looked at him with anger. If it wasn't for HIM my mom would've believed me. Then she wouldnt' of forced me into breaking up with Nick and we never would've left. Then the accident couldn't happen and Nick would remember me.
"You, move, now!" He looked shocked at my sudden outburst. He smiled a little and got closer to me, stroking my hair.
"Aw, baby what's wrong." I hit his hand away and tried to push him away from my doorway.
"Just, get away from me! I never want to see you! I hate you! Hate you! Get the hell out of my house and away from me!" I started to push him, but it was no use; he wouldn't budge. "Get away! Now! Leave!" I felt my tears running down my face, but didn't move my hands to wipe them away. All I wanted right now was for him to leave and never come back. I continued to try and push him and I heard footsteps come up the stairs.
"Demetria Devonne Lovato!" I turned around at my mother's voice, but continued to try and push him away. "Demi, leave him alone."
"Leave him alone?! Make him leave me alone! Make him leave! Make him go far away and never come back! Make him take back everything he did! Make him turn back time and make us not get in the accident! Make him fix me! Make him fix Nick! It's all his stupid fault!" I turned to him again and started to hit him. "I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" He wrapped his arms around me and brought me into his chest. I cried even harder, wanting contact like this with Nick again. To have him hold me in his arms. I'd usually complaign being this close to Adam, but I ignored it. Right now, I needed a hug. I needed to just cry and let everything out. So, that's exactly what I did. After standing in my doorway for somewhere around 10 minutes, Adam picked me up bridal style and walked me into my room. I closed my eyes, just remembering the way I loved being in Nick's arms when he'd carry me like Adam was. The way he'd hug me close to his chest and hold me so gently, as if I would break if he held me tighter. Adam set me down on my bed and put my covers over me. He started to walk away from me, but I grabbed onto his arm and stopped him. "Adam?" He looked over at me.
"I'm sorry. I don't hate you. I'm just, frustrated with myself." He gave me a smile.
"No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I put you through. Just go to sleep." He walked over to me and kissed my head. I smiled to myself a little. Maybe Adam wasn't such a jerk after all. He walked out of my room and I pulled my blanket tighter around me. In the end, I'll make Nick remember me and we'll be together again, and maybe Adam and I will become great friends. Just like how we use to be when we were younger. That's when it didn't matter when you had friends off the opposite sex. You could be best friends with a boy and even hold hands. NOw it's different, because when you reach a certain age boys just want you for sex. Although, some boys are different. They're kind to you and show you respect. True gentleman. One of those different boys is Nick and I'm happy to say that's the same boy I'm in love with. Because, nobody could ever treat me better, or love me better, than Nick can.

Chapter Four
Nick's POV:
"Got any three's?" I asked Frankie. He shook his head.
"Go fish." I reached for the deck and pulled the top card from the pile. I'm not sure how he got me to play go fish with him, but I was. There wasn't really anything to do when you're in a hospital though. I wish I could just leave this place already. I was told that I have to stay just a little longer so they can make sure I'm fine. I feel fine, isn't that enough? Well, not fullly fine. There is the pain that comes with having broken bones. Oh, and the fact that I can't remember some things. More specifically, a certain person. Who, I guess I'm dating. "Do you have any five's?" My thoughts went back to the game of Go Fish I was playing, instead of Demi. I looked down in my hand and grabbed my five. I handed it over to him and he smiled. "Sweet. Got any King's?" I looked down at my hand again and handed him my king. He smiled even more and then looked back up at his hand. I saw him glance up by me and then back at his hand. "Got any..." He looked up by me again. "two's?" I handed my two over to him too. I then attempted to look behind me, only to see a mirror. I turned back to him and smiled.
"You cheater."
"Joe said it's not cheatingsits called using your resources."
"No, it's cheating. Guess what I do to cheaters?" Frankie's smile grew even larger. "I eat them for lunch!" I reached out trying to grab Frankie. He squeeled and jumped up, running away from me.
"Ha. Ha. Try to get me now, Nicholas."
"Oh I will, Franklin." I moved my legs off the bed and grabbed my crutches laying against the wall. I pushed myself up with my left leg and stood there, facing Frankie. He looked at me, not expecting me to stand up. He saw me smiling and his eyes widened. "You better run, Frankie." He instantly bolted off, running for the door. I did my best, attempting to chase after him. I managed to finally get out of the room door and didn't see him anywhere. (a/n:Don't worry, you're allowed to wear pajama pants. xD) I guess it was going to be hide n' seek now. I slowly made my way down the hall, trying to find where Frankie might've hidden. "Frankie.." I whispered, not wanting to get into trouble. I continued down the hall and stopped at a mirror. I hadn't actually looked at myself since the accident. I stared at my reflection, looking at how I really looked. I brought my hand up to the bandage around my head, thinking about it. If I would've been paying attention to the road and not Demi, this wouldn't have happened. Because of my stupid mistake, I'm causing her pain too. She's got a broken arm and heart. I wish I could just go back in time and stop it. Prevent it from happening so she wouldn't have pain, because of me. I let out a sigh and kept walking down the hall, still trying to find Frankie. I felt my heart fill with sadness everytime I walked by a room with an open door. Just seeing how many people are in worse conditions than me, and I think what happened to me is bad. Sometimes, I don't get. I mean, if somebody who I loved was right in front of me and they were dying, I wouldn't be able to handle the pain it would give me. Especially if I couldn't do anything about it. God loves us all, yet he allows pain, misery, and even death to happen to us. Meanwhile he has to watch it all, knowing he has the power to stop it, yet he only can for some people. Because, he has to let things happen, for whatever reason there is. I'm not exactly sure why all this is happening to me, but I do believe it's for a reason. I just wish I could know what that reason is for my life.

Chapter Five
Demi's POV:
I awoke from sleeping and stretched out my arms, sitting up in my bed. I threw my blanket off of me and stood up. I let out a yawn before walking out of my room. I walked partially down the hallway and then downstairs. I searched all the rooms looking for my parents, not finding them in a single room. I finally walked back upstairs and went to the guestroom. There I found him, messing with one of my guitars. "What do you think you're doing?" He looked up at me. He stood up from where he was sitting on the bed and walked over to me a little.
"Oh, sorry. I would've asked if you were okay with me using one of your guitars, but I didn't want to wake you." He said.
"It's fine."
"Our parents are gone, by the way. If you were wondering why nobody's home. They went to go look at some of the houses for sale in the neighborhood. They took Madison and Ashley with them."
"Why are they looking for houses?"
"My mom wants us to move up here to L.A."
"Oh, that's cool. I guess." He nodded his head a little. I stood there for a second, the mood a little awkward.
"You want to do something?" I looked over at Adam.
"Like what?"
"I don't know. It's just kind of, boring. Want to go get some ice cream?" I thought about it for a second, not sure if I should trust him. Although, Adam was very nice earlier. Maybe Adam really is a nice guy.
"Sure. Ice cream sounds good."
---
I sat on my stool at our table at the ice cream shop. Adam said he would get our ice creams and told me to take a seat. He walked up to me and handed me my ice cream before taking a seat next to me. We sat there for a second, just eating our ice cream, before he decided to end the silence. "So," he asked, "what's going on with you lately?"
"I don't know, " I replied, "Just chilling I guess. Learing how difficult it is to complete tasks when you have a broken arm and trying to cope with the fact that my boyfriend doesn't remember me, or the fact that we're dating. Pretty much, my life sucks right now." He stared at me for a second before looking back at his ice cream.
"I was just trying to get a conversation started, you know? I'm sorry though, about what you said. Your life does kinda sound like it sucks."
"Thanks, that doesn't make me feel any worse." He smiled a little at my sarcasm.
"Sorry. So, what are you going to do about Nick, then? He doesn't remember you at all?" I looked down at my ice cream and took a bite of it. Ice cream was the perfect thing right now. I replayed what had happened at the hospital in my head and I felt my throat start to hurt and my vision start to get blurry.
"Can we eat our ice cream at home?" My voice was a little shaky as I spoke. He looked a little confused, but then realized why I wanted to go. He grabbed our ice cream and led me outside to my car. He opened the passanger door for me and helped me get in. I didn't understand why he was being nice to me all of the sudden, but it made me happy. Maybe I was wrong about Adam, maybe he changed. I mean, what happened before was the past, right? My trust with Adam was starting to increase with every minute I spent with him. Maybe he really was a good guy, I just had to get to know him again.

Chapter Six
Nick's POV:
After another 15 minutes of roaming around the hospital floor I was staying on, I finally came across Frankie, trying to buy a candy bar. When I had finally found him he laughed at me and called me a slow poke, before grabbing his candy bar and running off again. It then took me a little over 20 minutes just to find my way back to my room. Too long of a walk when you're on crutches. I finally entered the room and saw that everyone else had came back. My mom smiled and rushed over to me when I came in, making sure I was okay. I then proceded to tell her I was fine and finally got to lay back in bed. Oh how nice it felt to get off my feet, or foot, technically. I looked over at Frankie, laying on the bed beside me. He gave me a little smile full of chocolate. "You know, if I didn't have to use crutches, I would've caught you." I said to him.
"Yeah right," he said, "I'd still be too fast for you. It's not my fault you're a slow poke." I smiled a little from him.
"Yeah well, guess what?" He looked over at me.
"What?"
"I never got to eat you for cheating."
"I know. That's a good thing too, because I probably taste nasty. Anyways, I'd have way too much sugar in me for you to eat. It'd make your sugar level go crazy and then you'd probably die right after me."
"Frankie..." My mom said. I laughed a little at him.
"Mom, he's just joking, it's fine. It doesn't bug me." I said to her.
"I'm just trying to prove to Nick that he wouldn't want to eat me, mom." Frankie said.
"That's not going to stop me though." I grabbed Frankie from next to me and held him against me, tickling him. "I tickle my prey before I eat them!" Frankie started to laugh uncontrollably as I continued to tickle him. "Then I make them really dizzy so they don't know what I'll do next!" I started to shake him around a little, causing him to laugh even more. I finally stopped after awhile and he continued to laugh. "Now, I eat you!" He let out a little squeel and I started to pretend to eat him. He then fell flat onto the bed and layed there, not moving at all. I poked him a little, trying to get a laugh out of him. "Somebody call the doctors in, Frankie's dead." I heard him giggle quietly, making me smile. I then looked at myself, checking me. "Looks like I proved Frankie wrong. I'm still alive." I then put my hand on my heart and gasped. "Oh, no. He was right. It's just too much, I'm dying." I made it dramatic, getting Frankie to laugh. I then put my hand on my head and closed my eyes. I felt Frankie move on the bed and sit right by me. I opened my eyes slightly and grabbed him, making him laugh again. I then set him in my lap and hugged onto him tight.
"I knew you weren't really dead." I smiled a little.
"That's because you're the smartest nine year old ever." Frankie shrugged his shoulders a little.
"Pft, I know." Frankie could always make me smile, even in the worst of situations. "Nick, now that you're done eating
me, can we watch some cartoons?" He turned towards me in my lap and gave me pleading eyes.
"Sure, if you can find the remote."
"I got it." Joe said. He turned on the tv and started to flip through the channels, trying to locate the cartoons. Sounds came from the tv as we the channels switched through, but a certain channel caught my attention.
"Wait, Joe, go back a little." He gave me a wierd look.
"It's just news channels."
"I know, go back." He flipped back a few, trying to locate the one I wanted. "Stop." He stopped on the channel I said, facing the tv to see what it was.
-"Teen Disney stars Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato were reportedly in a car accident just a few days ago on Tuesday. Reporters said-" My mom cut the news reporter off as she shouted over to Joe.
"Joe, change the channel." He did as mom said, changing the channel to something different.
"Joe, go back." He rolled his eyes and flipped back.
"Joseph, I said change the channel." He changed the channel again.
"Change it back, Joe."
"Nicholas, it's just some stupid rumors and gossip, it's nothing important. Find the cartoons Joe."
"Mom!" My mother looked at me, shocked by the loudness of my voice. "It's my life, I want to know what they're saying about it. I can't remember it anyways." My mother kept quiet, letting me get my way. "Joe," He turned the channel back to the channel I wanted it on. I watched the screen as photos appeared from the scene. They went on to talk about rumors spreading around about how Demi and I are dating, which in a way isn't a rumor I guess. If we still are dating, that is. I mean, I hardly know her. I closed my eyes wanting nothing more than to remember what they were talking about. Remember the accident and remember Demi. Gosh, if it wasn't for her mom, trying to break us up, the whole accident wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Chapter Seven
Demi's POV:
When we finally arrived home, Adam got out and came over to my side. He opened the door for me and helped me out of the car. He pulled me close to him and walked me up to the house. When we got inside, I ran up to my room, wanting to confide in the comforting abilities of my bed. I slammed my door shut behind me and ran over to my dresser. I grabbed out the sweatshirt that lay on the top in the first drawer. I put it on, taking in the wonderful scent that filled my nostrils. Oh how I loved how he smelled. Nick had the perfect smell and I could always smell it on his clothes. I'm glad I kept the sweatshirt of his that I borrowed. I got in my bed and slipped under the covers. All I wanted to do was lay in bed and think about the good memories I had with Nick. I closed my eyes and started to drift off into a sleep. I smiled to myself as a dream began to play in my mind, a happy memory replaying before me. It wasn't the first dream of Nick I'd had, but it did remind me of what you used to be and may not be anymore. Even though Nick had kissed me once before in his bedroom, it was nothing like the kiss-or kisses-we shared that night. I know I'll never forget it.
***Dream/Flashback***
Nick picked me up bridal style and jumped into his pool. When we both surfaced I splashed him a little.
"What if I didn't want to get in yet?" I asked him
"Well, that's too bad." He said back.
"Well then, Nicholas." I pushed him under and then stuck my tongue out at him.
"You're in for it now, Demetria."
"Not unless you catch me, Nicholas." I started to swim for the stairs, so he swam to the edge and jumped up. I ran around the pool away from him, trying not to let him get me. "That's cheating!"
"Is not! We never established any rules!"
"Well, I am now! That was cheating!" Once he had finally got me, he threw me over his shoulder and I let out a squeel.
"That's not fair, you cheated, remember!"
"I didn't cheat!" He walked over to the diving board and stood in front of it. "Ready?"
"Nick, put me down!"
"Did I cheat?"
"Yes!"
"Then I'm not putting you down." He stepped on the diving board and started to walk towards the water.
"Nick!"
"Did I?"
"Fine, no!"
"Too late!" He went to the end and jumped off into the water. He started laughing when he came out of the water and waited for me to come up, but I didn't. I stayed under, trying to trick him into thinking I had ran out of air."Demi?" He went under the water pulled me up. "Demi?" He dragged me out of the pool and set me in the grass. e felt my pulse, so he checked to see if I was breathing. He started to panic when he realized I wasn't, since I was holding my breath. "Oh my gosh, Demi! Oh, no. I have to go call 911. Or do CPR. Oh My Gosh, Demi." I opened my eyes without him noticing and grabbed onto his leg. He let out a little scream and I smiled at him.
"Gottcha." I started laughing.
"That's not funny! I thought I actually killed you or something." He moved so that he was right over top of me and I finally stopped laughing. "Payback. Old school style."
"Old school?" He nodded my head.
"Just like when we were kids. What's the one thing you thought was the grossest thing ever?"
"Eating dirt or bugs?" He laughed.
"If you were a girl. Please, when your a boy, you get dared to eat those. You do it too, of course, cause otherwise they'd make fun of you. But when you're really little, you always seperate the girls and the boys."
"Because they have cooties." I said with a smile.
"So then what would the grossest thing be?" He gave her a smile back.
"Kissing a boy."
"Payback." He leaned in close to me and touched his lips to mine. He slowly pulled away and rested his forehead against mine. I wrapped my hands around his neck and brought his lips back to mine. Once. Twice. Three Times. Four times. Talk about some amazing kissing.
"Am I interupting something?" We pulled away to see Joe standing by the front door. "Because it's 1 in the morning and some people are trying to sleep." We both looked at eachother and smiled.

Chapter Eight
Nick's POV:
I woke up and opened my eyes, looking around the room. I wasn't sure what time it was, but I must've fallen asleep for at least a few hours. There was nobody else in the room but me. I looked at the clock and started wondering what time Demi would come back. She promised she'd be back to see me. There was just something about her smile that made me believe she'd keep that promise. As my mind thought of Demi, I thought of the dream I had just had. It was Demi and I sitting on the beach somewhere. The specific place looked familiar, like I've been there before. I wasn't sure if it was actually just a dream, or if my mind was trying to remember something that happened. It was hard telling, since there really wasn't much I could remember about her. It felt as though I was actually there. Like I had onced lived the dream I had. The two of us by the ocean, watching the sun as it set. There was a conversation that we had, that made me rethink it just being a dream. I remember Demi telling me something about how we kept talking and joking around that we'd make our relationship last forever. She said that was one of her promises to me was that she'd be here for me forever. In the dream I had, when we were sitting on the beach, we started talking about some things. A few things were partially fuzzy and I'm still not sure about it. There were things that I were clear though. I know for sure that in the dream Demi and I were talking about us, and love. I remember us saying 'I love you' to eachother and I think it was possibly our first time. Then we talked about forever again and that we'd always be the way we were. We'd be with eachother forver; be in love, forever. Even now, I found myself smiling at the thought for some reason. I can hardly remember this girl, yet there's things I can notice about her that make me realize why I had fallen for her in the first place. She's beautiful, he eyes are like two dark brown sparkling diamonds, she can make me laugh from the simplest things, and lastly; her smile made me want to smile and it brightened up the whole rooom, even if it was completely filled with darkness. Surely, after spending a few days with her, my memory would have to be back to normal. I mean, that's all it should take, right? If I'm already understanding why I fell in love with her once, then it shouldn't be too difficult to try and do it again. Then once I fall for her again, I'll remember her. It's a perfect plan. The only thing missing is Demi. I grabbed my phone and started to go to my contacts, but instead put in a number. I looked at it for a second before hitting talk. My phone then brought up the contacts name, Demi. I smiled slightly to myself, thinking how easy it was going to be remembering her. I listened to the ring, waiting for her to pick up, but she didn't. I called back again, but she still didn't answer. I sighed and put my phone down, figuring I'd just call back later. What am I supposed to do until later? Why do hospitals have to be so boring? I turned on the tv and stared at it for awhile, scanning through the channels. There had to be something good on some channel. I stopped clicking the channel button when I noticed a certain someone. I forgot she had her own tv show. There's another reason I fell in love with her, her humor. Plus, she's a very talented girl. I heard my phone go off so I reached over and grabbed it. "Hello?"
"Hey,Nick." I heard Demi say into the other end of the phone. "Sorry I didn't answer your calls, I fell asleep. So, why'd you call?"
"I wanted to hang out with you. You wanna get some lunch?" She laughed a little.
"Nick, you're still in the hospital. We can't really go out to eat."
"They have a cafeteria."
"Okay, fine. I'll go to lunch with you in the cafeteria. I'll be there as soon as I can." I smiled to myself.
"Wonderful. I'll see you soon."
"Yep. Bye."
"Bye." I set down my phone and smiled to myself. Here goes day one.

Chapter Nine
Demi's POV:
I smiled to myself thinking of Nick and then my smile faded, thinking of Nick. Hearing his voice could always make me smile, but knowing that when I get to him he won't remember who I am, made it fade away. I let out a sigh as I stood up out of bed and headed downstairs. I grabbed a pair of shoes and slipped them on, then went to find Adam. He was in the kitchen trying to make a sandwhich when I found him. He looked up at me when he heard me come in and he stopped what he was doing. "Adam, can you give me a ride over to the hospital?" He opened his mouth to say something, then stopped.
"Are you going like that?" I gave him a confused look. "You've got mascara all over your face." I started to wipe at my face embarrassed. Mascara running was one of the many reasons I hated crying. He grabbed a napkin and ran it under the faucet before walking over to me. It started to wipe the damp napkin on my face, getting the dried mascara off. He smiled when he was finished. "There, beautiful like usual." I smiled a little from his comment.
"Thank you. Do you think you could take me over there now?" He let out a small sigh and then nodded. I was curious about the sigh, but didn't ask. Maybe he was sad I was leaving? Maybe I really was making an impact on him. Could it be possible he's actually falling for me, for real? Not that it really matters to me, I'm in love with Nick. He grabbed my hand, causing me to fall out of my reverie. He pulled me towards the door and I finally managed to realize I needed to move my feet. I released my hand from his grip and slowly walked next to him. Before I could get to the car, he opened the passanger door for me and let me get in before shutting it. His sudden change in behavior has been a little wierd to get used to. But, I liked it better than the old Adam. The car ride to the hospital was silent, which was something I hated. I loved getting into a car and blasting the music as we drove. Especially when I drove with Selena, cause she'd sing horribly with me for fun. As soon as Adam had the car stopped, I hopped out, not waiting for him to park. "I'll call you later for a ride. Bye!" I shut the door fast, not waiting for his reply. I wanted to get out of that car of silence. I slowly trudged into the hospital, heading to the elevator to go to Nick's floor. I pressed the 6 button and then waited for the doors to close.
"Hold the door!" The person the voice came from sounded familiar and I started smiling as he came into view. I stuck my hand out to make sure the door didn't close, as Joe came running in. He started to press the 'door close' button wildly and I started to laugh at him. I looked out the elevator before the doors closed to see Kevin and Frankie running towards it. They didn't make it in time and the doors closed as the elevator started rising. Joe started to catch his breath and then looked towards me smiling. "I said I few things I shouldn't have to them. It was a bad idea. Luckily, I'm a faster runner." I laughed some more at him. Joe was always so crazy. "What are you doing back here?" I smiled at him.
"Thanks."
"Not like that, I just meant why are you here?"
"Nick invited me to lunch. We're going to the cafeteria." Joe laughed a little.
"That's a wonderful lunch date." I rolled my eyes at him.
"At least it still counts as I date, Mr.I'minlovewithagirlbuttoochickentoaskheroutonadate."
"Hey, I have to asked out Selena."
"Ha, so you do like Selena!"
"That's not fair, you tricked me."
"Doesn't matter, you still admited it. If you don't ask her out soon, I'm going to tell her."
"You wouldn't."
"Would so." I smiled at him. The elevator stopped and the doors slowly opened. "Gotta go, this is my stop." I exited the elevator and waved at him as I headed down the hall towards Nick's room. I don't think he realizes that by staying on the eleavator, it's just going to take him back down to the first floor. Which is where Kevin and Frankie are. I laughed a little to myself. I loved being smarter than Joe.
I smiled to myself thinking of Nick and then my smile faded, thinking of Nick.
Chapter Ten
Nick's POV:
I watched the door, waiting for Demi to come. It had already been 20 minutes since I got off the phone with her and she still hadn't showed up yet. Just as I was about to reach for my phone to call her, I saw her walk into the room. She had her bright beautiful smile on, that made me instantly smile too. "Hey." I said to her. Her smile seemed to grow, if it was even possible.
"Hi, Nick. Ready for some lunch?"
"I'm starving. Let's go." I sat up and put my feet onto the ground. I reached next to me and grabbed my crutches, using them to stand up. I was starting to get used to them. I saw Demi frown a little out of the corner of my eye as I stood up. I wanted to cheer her up and make her happy again. "So, when do I get to sign that cast of yours?" She looked down at her arm and then back at me.
"Whenever you want to. You'll be the first." I smiled to myself. She wanted me to be the first.
"I think I'll wait to sign it. I don't want it to be something lame. I'll start thinking about what to write." She rolled her eyes at me.
"You're so wierd." I laughed sarcastically.
"I'm the wierd one? I'm brothers with Joe."
"Good point. I saw him on my way up here running from kevin and Frankie." I gave her a wierd look. "Apparently he said something to them they didn't quite like." She laughed a little as she said the last few words.
"Well, that's Joe for you." I gave her a small smile. "To lunch?" She smiled back at me.
"To lunch."
---------
"Here, let me get your tray for you, Nick." I looked over at Demi and pulled it away from her.
"I have skills. These crutches aren't going to stop me from carrying my tray." I said to her.
"I don't want you to drop it or fall, Nick."
"I'm not going to, believe me." She rolled her eyes at me.
"Okay..." I smiled a little at her reaction. When we got to the cash register she started to pull out her money for herself.
"Demetria." She looked up at me. "Put it away."
"Nick, I can pay for myself. Plus, where do you possibly have money?" I smiled a little at her. Good thing I thought about it before she came. I handed her my left crutch and then bent down to my left leg. I reached into my sock and pulled out a $10. I handed it to the cashier and then took my crutch back from Demi.
"Don't doubt my mad skills." She smiled a little, trying to hold back a laugh. "You think that's funny, huh? Do you not believe that I have skills? Demi, that is just cruel!" She started laughing now and it made me smile. Her laugh could make ANYONE smile; it was adorable. When the cashier handed me back my change, I gave it to Demi to put in her purse and then made my way over to a table with Demi. I used my left crutch to push her chair out a little for her before taking a seat in my own.
"You don't have to try to do things for me, Nick. I can do some stuff on my own."
"I know you can. I let you carry your tray." I gave her a smile and she rolled her eyes at me again with a smile. I grabbed my sandwhich with one hand, and then reached across the table with the other. I grabbed Demi's hand resting on the table and set mine on it. She looked up at me and smiled, but then it slowly faded away.
"Nick..."
"Demi, we're a couple, aren't we? Just try to make it work? If I spend more time with you, then I'll get my memory back. I'm not breaking us up because of some stupid accident."
"It's not just some stupid accident, Nick. You can't even remember who I am!" I sighed.
"I know, Demi. I'm sorry. But, I don't want it to ruin anything we had. If I loved you once, I have no doubt that I still love you. I just can't remember it." Demi looked down before looking up and smiling at me.
"Okay." She leaned over the table and kissed my cheek. I smiled a little as she sat back down.
"Just saying, I like when you kiss me on the lips better. Like the time you made out with me."
"Did not!"
"Please, that's what it's called when you kiss more than once. You kissed me like, what, 6 times or something? Plus, we were in our bathing suits."
"Shut up, Nicholas." We both laughed a little and then I stopped. When Demi was telling me about us, she said some things about our 'late night swim'. She never mentioned how many times we had kissed.

Chapter Eleven
Demi's POV:
Lunch turned out better than I thought. Nick and I talked like nothing had even happened. It was as if the accident was a figment of our imaginations. Except, when I looked at him, I knew it wasn't. He was in such a great mood everytime he was around me, yet he looked at his worst. I can't stop blaming myself deep down about the crash. I keep telling myself it was an accident, but then somewhere in my I hear myself saying it's my fault. 'YOU fell in love. YOUR mom made you break up. YOU were what he was paying attention to. YOU were the reason of leaving. YOU were the reason you crashed.' I looked down at my now basically empty tray as my thoughts interupted my conversation with Nick. I mean, I WAS the reason it happened. It's obvious. Nick blames himself since he was driving. But, he doesn't remember, I do. Therefore, that's how I know I'm the real reason it happened. "Demi?" I looked up at Nick who was giving me a questioning glance. "Are you stil with me?" he joked. I gave him a small smile and a nod. He continued to stare at me. "Tell me what's wrong." I let out a sigh.
"Nothing's wrong, Nick."
"I don't believe you. I can tell there's something wrong. Just because I don't remember you, doesn't mean I don't know you."
"That makes know sense, Nick."
"I may not remember your favorite color or the type of perfume you use, but I know who you are and that something is bothering you." I kept looking at him and finally gave up.
"I just, I feel like the whole accident and memory loss thing is my fault. I mean, I-"
"Demi," he cut me off, "do not blame yourself for what happened. I may not remember what happened, but I know it wasn't because of you. It was an accident. Remember that. It's not like either of us knew it was going to happen, it just did. I was the one driving and you told me about it. I wasn't paying attention to the road. You may think it's your fault, but it's more mine than yours. I should've been looking at the road and it would've been prevented. So, please, do not blame yourself. Promise?" I sighed. Another promise to keep for Nick.
"Promise." He smiled a litle. "You have to promise me something then." He waited for me to continue.
"You can't blame yourself either." He looked down and then slowly nodded.
"Promise." We both smiled at eachother. More promises. "How about, we go to dinner once I get out of this hospital? They said a week, but hey, I'm Nick Jonas; I can find a way to get out early." He gave me a wink, causing me to smile and blush. I looked down, trying to hide my face. I glanced up a little to see Nick looking at me and smiling. "You're blushing. I got you to blush. Demi Lovato is blushing. Should I shout it out? Demi Lovato is blushing!" I slapped Nick's arm playfully and he started laughing.
"Nick, we're in a hospital, you're supposed to be quiet." He stopped laughing and smiled at me.
"Sorry. You never answered me though. Dinner?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Of course. When exactly, Mr.Jonas?" He smiled a little.
"I'll let you know when I know. Just letting you know, I won't be picking you up. I'll have my chauffeur pick you up."
"By chauffeur, do you mean Joe or Kevin?"
"Well, of course. What, do you think I have somebody drive my car for me? That'd be ridiculous. What am I, some kind of millionare?" I started smiling and we both laughed a little.
"You are so stupid sometimes and it makes me understand why you're brothers with Joe."
"Ow," Nick put his hand on his heart, "Demi that hurt."
"I'm sorry." I put on a fake sincere look and it made him smile, causing me to smile as well. "I'm holding you to dinner. I'm not going to let you forget."
"I won't forget it." He grabbed his crutches and stood up, walking to my side of the table. He grabbed my hand and helped me out of my chair. He put my tray on top of his and then carried them over to where you set your trays. He then walked back over to me and then we went to the door of the cafeteria. He did his best attempt at giving me a hug goodbye. "I'll see you later." He gave me a smile and I returned it.
"Yep, see you later." He looked around a little.
"Bye." He leaned on his left, putting his pressure on that side. He then used his right arm to grab onto my waist and pull me closer to him, before he brought his lips to mine, giving me a gentle kiss. I closed my eyes, remembering the feeling of his lips on mine. He pulled away and rested his forehead against mine. "Bye, Dems." He backed away and I could hear him starting to walk away. I opened my eyes and watched him.
"B-bye, Nick." I smiled to myself. He called me Dems. I never told him he called me that.

Chapter Twelve
Nick's POV:
*3 days later*
I smoothed out my pants and knocked on the door in front of me. After having tests taken, the hospital finally realeased me. I never realized how boring it was there. I looked at the door as it opened up, revealing a beautiful girl. Not just any beautiful woman, Demi. I smiled at her and she smiled back. "You ready for dinner?" I asked her. She nodded her head at me. I stepped to the side the best I could and let her pass by me. I followed behind her to Joe's car. I set a crutch against the car and then opened the door. I let her get in and then opened the passanger door to put my crutches in the front. I then got into the backseat next to Demi and shut the door. I turned towards her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "It's nice to see you again." She smiled at me.
"It's nice to see you, too." She said. I reached over and grabbed her hand, intertwining my fingers with hers. I brought her hand up to my lips and kissed it softly. She looked at me and had her wonderful smile on her face. That perfect smile of hers that made me smile too. She continued to stare at me, as I did the same, smiling at eachother. Before I knew it, Joe had pulled up to the restaraunt for us. She looked out the window to see where we were and smiled. "This is the restaraunt you chose?"
"Yeah, I love this place. Why?" She continued to smile.
"No reason." I opened the back door and managed to hop out. I opened the passanger door and grabbed my crutches out, setting them against the side of the car. Demi scooted over to the door and I grabbed her hand, helping her out. I shut the door and then walked towards the door with her. "What about our ride?"
"I told Joe I'd call him when we needed to be picked up." I opened the door and let her walk in, before following behind her. We were led to our table and I pushed her chair out a little so she could sit down. She rolled her eyes at me as I took a seat. I set my crutches on the ground next to the table and looked up at her. "What was that for?"
"You." She laughed. "Even when you can hardly do it, you'll try to be a gentleman." I smiled at her.
"Always."
"So, this is where you wanted to go?" I nodded my head.
"Why?"
"It's just, this is-this is where you took me for our date. That was the night where everything was perfect. Then the next day-" She stopped and her smiled faded.
"That's when the accident happened?" She nodded her head. "Well, that's not this night. Just forget about that for a night. Right now, it's just you and me, having an amazing night." Her smile came back and she set her hand on the table. I grabbed hers in mine, resting it on the table. I wanted to make tonight perfect for Demi. She deserved it.

Chapter Thirteen
Demi's POV:
After we had finished eating, Nick led me outside to the balcony overlooking the ocean. I smiled as I leaned against the railing, looking out at the ocean. That night we had shared here was no longer a memory to him, but would always be to me. I could remember every small detail about that night. I closed my eyes tight, the memory of it playing in my head.
*Flashback*
"Demi, I wanted to ask you something. I mean, I think you know that I really like you. I have a feeling that you just might feel the same way." I smiled a little when he said that. "So, I was curious, we haven't really made this official or anything. Demetria; do you think, maybe, you'd like to be my girlfriend?" My smile grew huge, as I nodded my head.
"Yes. I'd would like to be your girlfriend, Nicholas." He brought his lips to mine, giving me a kiss. He pulled away, leaving his forehead to rest against mine.
"Do you think anybody caught us out here? Maybe tomorrow that kiss will be all over the internet." He gave me a little smile and I stepped away from him.
"What if that really happens, Nick. I mean, would we really want people to know the moment we become boyfriend and girlfriend?" He stepped closer to me and wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Don't worry, I'm like a ninja with relationships." He gave me a little wink
"A ninja, Nick?"
"Yeah, they'll never know. I'm good at keeping it a secret. That is what you want, right?"
"well, yeah. I mean, don't you?"
"Well, yeah." I started to laugh.
"Copycat."
"What are we, four?"
"Ha, ha." He brought me closer to him and kissed my head. He kept me there as we stared out at the ocean once more.
"Demi, can you promise me something?"
"Yeah, Nick?"
"Promise me you'll never hurt me and that you'll be here forever?"
"I promise Nick. Will you promise me something?"
"What's that?"
"Promise me...you'll never forget me." He looked at me for a second. "If we don't work out, I don't want to lose you forever. I want you to always remember me." He gave me a smile.
"I promise Demi.
*End Flashback*
I closed my eyes tighter, feeling tears start to surface. I tried to hide my face from Nick, hoping he wouldn't see. It was hard knowing that I'd always have all our amazing times together in my mind, but he couldn't remember the simplest thing about me as my name at first. I wasn't sure if he'd ever even remember. Maybe he never will.

Chapter Fourteen
Nick's POV:
I looked over at Demi and noticed that she was trying to avoid looking at me. "Demi, are you okay?" She slowly nodded her head, still not looking in my direction. I took a step closer to her and then put my right arm around her waist. She refused to look up at me, so I moved my arm and lifted her face up with my finger. Her eyes met mine and I could see a tear sliding down her face. "Demi, why are you crying?" I wiped the tear from her cheek with my thumb and left my hand on her cheek, caressing it.
"I just thought of the last time we were here."
"Demi, please don't cry. Everything's going to be okay."
"You don't know that though, Nick. What if you don't remember it? What if you can't remember me and everything we shared?"
"I will. It'll just take a little time, that's all."
"How can you be so positive? How can you know for a fact?"
"Because, I just do. I know I'll remember if I try hard enough. I want to Demi, I really do. You don't know how difficult it is for me not knowing something you talk about. Especially when I was originally there. It's hard Demi, but we can get through it together. Believe me."
"You're right. I'm sorry. I just, I guess I'm worried about it."
"Don't be. Everything will turn out alright in the end." I gave her a smile and she smiled back. The truth was, everything I had just said was a lie. Honestly, I had the same fears as her right now. I wasn't sure I would remember or how long it would take if I did. I'd been told that my memories could instantly come back at once, or in small little bits. I was also told that I could remeber within the next few weeks, or it could take months. Possibly, even years or not at all. It was a struggle to remember, but I would try my hardest. It wasn't for me, but for Demi. it affected her the most and that's what killed me. Yes, I couldn't remember things in my own past, but Demi knew everything and couldn't share it with me. The love we had is gone, because only she remembers it. The only thing I am postive about, is that slowly, I'm rembering some things. Which is good, because that means I'm making progress. I just don't know how long I'll have to wait before I remember enough. Enough that I'm positive I really do love Demi. Enough that I can laugh and smile with her about what we've done. Enough that I don't have to worry about remembering things. Enough that Demi won't leave me.
----
After we had talked for awhile, Joe had finally came and picked us up. He dropped Demi off at her house, before going home. I hadn't been able to sleep in my own bed for close to a week and I missed it. Getting up the stairs was a little difficult, but worth it in the end. When I was in my room, I shut the door behind me. I turned around to open it back up and realized there was no door knob. Was wasn't there a door knob? The thought couldn't come to my mind, so I ignored it. I set my crutches against the wall and sat on my bed. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted Joe, telling him to come to my room. I loosened the tie around my neck and took it off, along with my jacket. I took off my shoe and started to unbutton my shirt. I heard the door open and looked up at Joe as he entered. "Where's my doorknob?" I asked him.
"It fell off one day when you were getting ready for your date with Miley." Miley?
"with Miley?"
"Yeah, when you two were still going out. Before you started dating Demi. She cheated on you so you broke up with her."
"She cheated on me?!"
"She thought you were cheating on her with Demi, so she tried getting back at you." I paused for a second.
"Was I?"
"No, are you crazy?! I said she thought."
"But, we're still friends, right?"
"of course you are. She came over one day to talk to you and-" he stopped. "It's pointless telling you this stuff, isn't it?"
"What do you mean?"
"Telling you it's making you remember." I looked down.
"No. But, at least it lets me know what did happen, since I don't know." Joe came over and sat on the bed next to me.
"How about, tomorrow I can answer any question you have and tell you what I know that's happened from what you remember." I looked at him and smiled.
"I'd like that." He stood up and started to walk out of my room. "Wait, can you do me a favor first?" He turned around and looked at me. "can you help me put on my pajamas?" He started smiling and we laughed together.
"Of course I will. I'll always help you with anything, little bro."
Chapter Fifteen
Nick's POV:
I sat in a car with Demi, driving down a road. It was dark and the only light was from the moon. I was looking in Demi's direction, smiling at her. I wasn't sure it was Demi, because my vision was majorly blurry; but I KNEW it was her. Her smile soon changed to a look of fear as she screamed my name. I looked forwards towards the road to see light coming towards us. I realized it was a car as it collided with mine, causing my vision to start spinning. I let out a scream and felt myself being shaken. I opened my eyes to find myself safely surrounded by my blanket. Above me I saw Joe, a worried look on his face. "Nick, are you okay?" He asked me. "I heard you scream, so I ran in as fast as I could."
"I was just sleeping. I must've been having a nightmare."
"Well, if you need anything, let me know, okay?" I nodded my head. He started to walk off, but I called after him, making him stop.
"I do need something. Do you think you could maybe, stay with me?" A smiled started to form on his face.
"Sure." He walked over to my bed and I scooted over, giving him more room. He lifted up the covers and laid down in the bed, getting comfortable. Once he was finally comfortable, he closed his eyes. "Goodnight, Nick."
"Uhm, night." I stayed silent for awhile before finally speaking. "Hey Joe," he opened his eyes and looked at me. "do you think it's possible for my nightmare to be a memory?"
"It could be. Do you think it was?"
"Well, I'm pretty positive my nightmare was a car accident. Like, the one Demi and I were in."
"So, you're saying you remember it?"
"No, it was all blurry to me. It's like the memory is there in my head, it's just not clear. Do you think that if I remember it, I'll remember everything else, too?"
"It might work like that. It's all up to you though, it's your brain." He closed his eyes again, trying to sleep. I figured I'd do the same, so I closed my eyes. Once the darkness had taken over my vision, I started to see the same thing I had in my dream. I opened my eyes and looked at the ceiling. "Nick?" I looked over at Joe. "Do you want me to stay up with you?" I guess he noticed that I'm not falling asleep. I smiled at him.
"Would you?"
"I told you, I'd do anything for you."
"Instead of tomorrow, do you think you could tell me right now? You know, what happened." Joe turned in bed, facing my direction.
"What do you want to know first?"
"About Demi. Were we really in love?"
"Everyone always says that when you say you're in love at a young age, it's not the truth. But, there's something about you two that always made us know you and Demi were in love. I think it's just the way you two look at eachother; like nothing else matters but the two of you. So, yes, you were. You two loved eachother so much. You almost never left her when you two started actually dating. That partially has to do with that Adam guy or whatever his name is. I'm not really sure what went on there, but I do know he wanted Demi. She was yours though and she still is. She's special, Nick, don't let her go. Ever." I smiled at Joe.
"I'd never dream of it."

Chapter Sixteen
Demi's POV:
I woke up from sleeping and went downstairs to find the house empty. I sighed and headed to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. I searched the cupboards for some pancake mix and got some eggs out of the fridge. I was about to start making it, then I stopped for a second. I wonder what Nick's doing. I grabbed my phone and texted him, asking if he wanted some breakfast. I looked around the fridge for some other food while I waited for his response. I smiled when I heard my phone go off. I clicked the view button and read what he had texted me.
-Goodmorning Beautiful. Breakfast sounds wonderful. : ) Be there soon.
I replied back and then set my phone down. It was always the simplest things that made me smile when it came to Nick. I went out to the living room to wait for Nick to come and saw somebody on the couch when I entered. "Hey," I said to him, "I didn't know you were here." He looked up at me and smiled.
"I could say the same." I laughed a little. He stood up and walked over to me. "Goodmorning, Demi."
"Morning, Adam." He pulled me into a hug, holding me tight. It was wierd, because being in his arms no longer scared me. I actually felt a little bit of comfort when he held me in his arms. "So," I said, pulling out of the hug, "Nick's coming over. I'm making breakfast. Would you like some too?"
"Sure. I could help you, if you'd like."
"Well, I was-" I looked at him and smiled. "Actually, I'd love your help. Plenty of food to make and I can't do it on my own. I was going to wait for Nick, but if you help I can just get it done for when he gets here." He followed me into the kitchen and I handed him a bowl. "You can help me wiht making the pancake mix first." I handed him the ingredients and he just stared at them.
"So, I just add how much the box says?" I gave him a wierd look.
"Have you never made pancakes?"
"Honestly, I've never cooked. Well, I've made cereal. Does that count?" I laughed a little at him.
"No, cereal doesn't count. I can't believe you've never cooked before. I'll help you with it." I grabbed out a measuring cup and the flour and handed it to him. I grabbed the box and read off how much flour was needed. "It says, 2 cups of flour." Adam opened the flour container and started scooping out flour.
"Now I just put it in the bowl?" I nodded my head slowly. He did so and then smiled. This would be harder than I thought. But, at least it would be fun.

Chapter Seventeen
Nick's POV:
As soon as I got Demi's text, I got to her house as fast as I could. I loved spending time with Demi, just because I knew she was 'mine'. Talking with Joe the previous night made me realize how lucky I was to have Demi, even if I didn't fully remember her. There were other guys out there who'd love a chance with her and I was the reason they couldn't. I wanted to just go to Demi and kiss her like never before. Well, like I've never remembered kissing her. She was mine and I was hers. It felt wonderful; it felt right. Joe had dropped me off at Demi's and I slowly made my way to her door. When I knocked, nobody came. I wasn't sure if I should be worried or not, but I shrugged it off. Maybe she just didn't hear it. I knocked a few more times and then finally called her; no answer with either. I checked the doorknob to see it was unlocked. I knew Demi wouldn't get mad, so I just walked in. She knew I was coming anyways. I went into the living room first, since that was the first room you entered from the door. There was a doorway to my left, stairs in front of me, and a hallway that led to the right. I went towards the doorway first, finding out it was the kitchen as I came to it. When I looked in, I saw Demi was in the kitchen making breakfast. She wasn't alone though. There was a boy in there with her and I knew Demi didn't have any brothers. The kitchen had flour all over and they were laughing with eachother. "I can't believe you burnt it!" Demi shouted, still laughing.
"You never told me to flip it!" The boy had shouted back while laughing. I started getting a feeling of anger, but I wasn't sure why. Maybe it was the fact that I should be the one in there with Demi. Wasn't he supposed to be in some other room while Demi and I made breakfast? Somewhere like, the guestroom. I should be the one goofing around with Demi while making breakfast, just like last time. He wasn't there then. Whoever he was. I decided I should let Demi know I was there, so I cleared my throat. Demi turned around quickly, putting her hand on her heart.
"Nick, you scared me. I didn't know you already came."
"I just got here." I told her. "Looks like breakfast isn't going to well." She smiled a little and looked over at him. Him...he just made me angry. I guess it was just the fact that they kept looking at eachother and smiling. Demi was mine, not his. She was MINE to smile at. She laughed a little and then looked back at me. "Adam's never cooked before, so that's why it's kind of a mess." Adam? The name sounded familiar and I tried to figure it out. But, like all the other memories, the ones of him weren't there. I knew he wasn't good though. My insticts told me he was no good and wasn't 'himself'. He seemed nice, almost too nice. Something was telling me he was giving lies and wasn't to be trusted.
"Well, I can help if you need me too."
"No, it's fine. You have your crutches, so I figured you could just wait in the living room for now. It'd be too crowded and I wouldn't want to hurt you." I gave her a smile. She couldn't tell, but it was fake.
"Yeah, good idea." Adam walked over to me and stuck out his hand.
"You probably don't remember me, so I figured I'd introduce myself. I'm Adam." I hesitated, but shook hands with him anyways.
"It's...nice to meet you. Although, I probably have before." He was smiling at me, but I saw it fade. I knew exactly why too. He knew that I wasn't buying is act.

Chapter Eighteen
Nick's POV:
(an hour later)
I took another bite of my egg and then took a drink of milk to swallow it down. I asked Demi if she wanted to just go out to eat, but she refused. Which meant, we were stuck eating the food they had made. Demi's not a bad cook, it's just that most of the food had gotten burnt or had too much of something in it. The pancakes were pretty burnt and if you drown them in the syrup, you couldn't taste it. But, Demi didn't have any sugar free syrup, so I couldn't put a lot on mine. Whcih meant tasting burnt pancakes. I looked over at Demi and gave her a smile. "Thanks for the breakfast." I told her. She gave me a smile back.
"Sorry it wasn't exactly, perfect." She laughed a little looking over at Adam and he laughed too. He glanced over in my direction as I glared at him and fake laughed along. He noticed and gave me a glare back. Demi stood up from the table and started to walk towards the kitchen. She grabbed my glass along with hers. "You want some more milk?" I nodded my head at her. She walked out of the room and Adam looked over at me.
"Jonas." He said.
"Parker." He looked tacken aback that I had said his last name.
"I thought you didn't remember anything." I laughed a little at him.
"I don't. My memory isn't needed to know that you're telling some sort of lie to Demi. Trying to win her trust, aren't you? I'm guessing whatever memories I have of you, aren't good at all."
"You're good at guessing, aren't you?" I gave him a smile.
"No, just good at telling when guys are playing a girl cause they want something from her. Even if that girl is taken."
"Why don't you just do like I told you before and back off of Demi?"
"I'll be sure to do that. Since, I'm just a pathetic little popstar, right?"
"That you are."
"Oh, and you're just a-I think Selena said it best one time-man whore." He glared at me and I glared back. "Don't tell me what to do when it comes to Demi. She's mine, not yours. I think you're the one who needs to back off. If you touch her, I swear you'll regret it."
"I'm so afraid."
"I think you underestimate me too much. Just because I'm some 'clean Disney channel teen star', doesn't mean I can't beat you in a fight." He threw his fork on the table and backed his chair up a little.
"I want to see you try." I stood up from my chair, leaning on the table.
"I'll do more than try, I'll succeed." He stood up also and we both just stood there.
"You know, you're not as modest as they say. You're a lot more arrogant."
"You aren't as nice as you make it seem, you're kinda a bitch."

Chapter Nineteen
Nick's POV:
I knew I had finally made him crack as he reached for his glass and threw it at me. I ducked, causing it to fly over me and crash into the wall, shattering in a million pieces. "I think you missed." He got even angrier at me and jumped over the table, coming at me. I tried to take a step backward, but I didn't have support from my crutches and I just fell to the ground. Adam jumped on me, punching me in the face. I pushed him off and then punched him back. He punched me in the ribs, causing me to stop for a second from pain. Demi must've told him that I broke a few ribs. Stopping gave him the pefect opportunity and he pushed me back from him. He reached over by the wall where the glass had just broke and grabbed one of the shards. He came towards me with it grabbed his arm, trying to prevent it from cutting me. "Give it up, Jonas, you know you can't win." He said to me.
"You're wrong, Adam, because I can. I'll make you wish you never messed with me or Demi." I kneed him in the stomach with my left leg, causing his arm to drop. His hand came down by my face, the glass sliding along my cheek. I could feel the blood on my face, knowing it had just cut me. I pushed him off of me again and then pinned him down. I heard a gasp and looked up to see Demi standing in the doorway. I opened my mouth to say something to her, but Adam punched me and then pushed me off of him. He grabbed a knife from the table and started to come my way. I looked over at Demi for a second and then over at my crutches. I started to reach for one and then looked back at Demi. She followed where my hand was going and then nodded at me. I grabbed my crutch and waited for Adam to get close enough, before swinging it up and hitting him with it. He fell to the ground and I set my crutch down. I wiped the blood from my cheek and then stood up by leaning on my chair. I grabbed my crutches and slowly walked over to Demi who looked completely scared. I walked by Adam and stopped. "Told you I'd win." He didn't respond, just groaned in pain. I went over to Demi and stood in front of her. I gave her a smile. "Probably not what you had in mind for breakfast."
"What happened?" She asked. I looked behind me.
"Uhm, do you really want to know?"
"Who started it?"
"Well, Adam gave the first punch, but I kind of provoked him."
"What were you thinking?! What did you say to him?!"
"Demi, don't get mad at me. I'm sorry. Adam's just lieing to you."
"Don't even start, Nick. You're just going to blame this all on Adam?"
"Given his previous history, yes!"
"You don't even know what happened in the past, do you?!" I looked down at the ground.
"No."
"Exaclty and he's changed. Don't blame it on him."
"He hasn't changed! He's just fooling you and you're falling for it! His being nice to you is just some stupid act so he can get what he wants!"
"What's that, Nick?!"
"You and I don't want to lose you!" She stopped yelling for a second and calmed down a little.
"You'd never lose me, Nick."
"I need you, Demi. You're the only one who can help me remember. I don't want to lose you." Demi put her arms around my neck, pulling me into a hug. I dropped my left crutch and put my arm around her. I felt her tears hit my shirt and I hugged my arm around her tighter.
"You'll never lose me, Nick. Forever, remember?" I closed my eyes as I felt my own tears start to come. I didn't remember.

Chapter Twenty
Nick's POV:
*A month later*
"That's the fifth flower you've wrote on there." I said, laughing at Demi.
"You told me I could draw whatever I wanted on your cast." She replied back.
"I think it might've been a mistake."
"Well, I just had to be able to make up for what you put on mine." She smiled, looking up at me and I returned it. It did take awhile before I had finally signed it, but I waited to put the perfect thing on there. A wrote Demi a paragraph about how wonderful her red cast went with anything she wore and how beaufitul she looked in it. I told her it made her eyes pop. The paragraph took up close to half of the space, but it made her laugh. That's all I wanted. She signed mine with 'I ♥ U Demi'. That's why she decided to decorate it with 10 different flowers and hearts, to make up for her lack of words. She didn't have to write me a long paragraph though or even tell me anything. I knew she loved me and I loved her. It was difficult for me to know whether I was just telling myself I loved her, or actually loved her. But, I knew I loved her. I do love her. I always will. Like Demi says to me, Forever. It was a promise she made to me and something to two of us had shared. It was like our way of saying 'I love you' and my memory loss wouldn't stop it. Even though a month has passed and I haven't fully remembered, I feel as though I've made progress. Everyday I can say the smallest thing and Demi tells me how it's a memory. My time spent with her really has helped. I thought she'd eventually just leave me, but she never did. She told she would be with me Forever, just like she promised. After she finished her flower, she capped the marker and put it in her pocket. She then layed back down in the grass with me, resting her head on my chest. We had went to the park for a picnic and when we were finished we layed in the grass. I started to play with her hair and she laughed. "What are you doing?"
"Messing with your hair. Am I not allowed to?" She looked up at me and smiled.
"I never said that." I leaned down and gave her a kiss, making her smile even more. "You know, I get my cast off in a few days." I looked at her and smiled.
"You're excited, aren't you?" She smiled even more. "I get mine off in a week or two."
"That's awesome."
"But, then I get my boot." She started laughing and I laughed with her. "It'll be very sad when I have to remove my flower covered cast. I think I'll get through it though."
"I'll help you get through it." I smiled at her and she smiled back. We had came a long way in the past month. I wasn't really sure what our love was like before the accident, but I knew that I loved her more than I did. The more time I spent with her, the more I fell in love. I wasn't just falling in love with her, but I felt I was trully in love with her. Nothing could keep me from loving her. I couldn't remember all the times we said 'Forever', but when I said it now, I meant it. I wanted to be with her forever. She was my one.

Chapter Twenty-One
Demi's POV:
"Hey, baby, are you ready to go?" Nick whispered in my ear. I smiled to myself and nodded my head. I sat up and he folded our blanket up to put it in the basket. He grabbed his crutches and stood up and then held his hand out, helping me up. I grabbed the basket and we walked out of the park. Since neither of us could currently drive, we decided to just walk to the park. We don't always have the greatest ideas. We were walking along the sidewalk and passed a flower stand, when Nick stopped. I looked back at him and he held his finger up, telling me one second. He gave me a smile as he got out some money and handed it to the guy at the stand. He grabbed a rose and then walked up to me. "A beautiful rose, for my beautiful girlfriend." I blushed a little and took the rose.
"Thank you." I said, smiling at him. He pushed some hair behind me ear and then took the rose from me. He snapped the stem in half, and then put the rose in my hair, tucked behind my ear. He took a step back and smiled.
"Now you look even better than beautiful, you look amazing." I smiled a little at him and he kissed me on the cheek. I'm still not sure how I managed to get a guy like him, but I'm lucky. Out of all the guys I've ever been with, none were like Nick. He treated me differently, like I was something special. He was perfect; the guy I've always wished for.
"Want to know what I think we should do?" Nick looked over at me. "We should go to Disneyland." Nick laughed a little at me.
"We can't go on any rides if we're injured."
"But, I get mine off in a few days." I gave him a pouting face and he kissed the top of my head.
"I'll make a promise to you. Once we are both cast free, I'll take you to Disneyland." I stopped him from walking and gave him a kiss.
"Perfect." We walked by a magazine stand and I stopped when something caught my eye. I grabbed one of the magazines from the shelf and looked at the front cover. Nick rolled his eyes at me and I read the cover out loud to him. "Nick secret romance with Selena?" I looked up at him confused as I flipped to the page, seeing pictures of him out with Selena. "When did you go on a date with Selena?"
"It wasn't a date. You were busy and we went to the movies as friends. I'm dating you, Demi. I wouldn't do something stupid like that." I knew he was right and that I should believe him, but a part of me couldn't help but feel hurt. It wasn't the fact that I actually thought he'd secretly date Selena date behind my back, it was that he went with her instead of me. He couldn't wait until I was available? I pushed the thought down, trying to ignore it. I put a smile on my face and thought about what was happening at the current moment; being with Nick. I had nothing to worry about. Nick loved me and I loved him. It'd always be that way. But, for some reason, my mind kept telling me to be careful. Be careful, because at any moment something can happen to change everything.

Chapter Twenty-Two
Nick's POV:
*Two weeks later*
Demi sat on my windowsill, staring outside the window. She kept smiling and it made me smile. "What's got you so happy?" I finally asked her.
"It's so wonderful outside. It's sunny!" I couldn't help but laugh at her.
"Then let's go outside."
"I don't want to just go outside. I want to go somewhere. The park is too cliche." I sat there for a second, trying to thikn of a place, when Demi started smiling.
"Did you think of a place?"
"A perfect place! We'll go to our spot!" I gave her a confused look.
"Where exactly is 'our spot'?" Her smile faded a little, but not completely.
"There's a beach along the ocean we'd always drive too. We actually were there before the accident. It's when we first said 'I love you' to eachother. It takes some time to get there and we have to go along the highway. It's a little ways outside of Santa Monica and it has an amazing view. I'll drive us there." I still wasn't sure what place she was talking about, but I knew it was important to her, so I agreed. I stood up from my bed and walked over to her.
"You're such a genious. That's something I love about you." I pulled her into my arms and gave her a kiss. She looked down at our feet for a second and gasped. "What's wrong?" She bent down to my boot and peeled off a kitten sticker.
"My favorite sticker was coming off! At least the cute little puppy one is on there." I rolled my eyes at her and helped her up. She decided that since my boot was plastic, she'd decorate it with stickers. My boot was covered in girly stickers. The only 'man' sticker on there was a baseball sticker. She told me she liked the animal ones better. I started walking towards my door and Demi grabbed my crutches, handing them to me.
"Leave them."
"What about just in case? Your foot isn't fully healed yet, mister."
"I can walk fine without them." She set them down with a loud sigh and I smiled at her. She was just so wierd sometimes. We went downstairs and then outside to her car. Even though I wasn't the one driving, I still opened her driver's door for her before walking to the passanger door. She laughed at me everytime, but I always told her, 'Being injured is no excuse to not be a gentleman'. On the ride to the beach she kept telling me why she loved that certain beach and why it was so amazing. I couldn't help but think about what she had told me earlier about it being our 'I love you' spot. I kept thinking about it, but the memory wouldn't come. I knew it was there somewhere like all the other. I had remembered a few of them. Whenever I had a dream about Demi and myself, I always told her. She would smile everytime and close her eyes as I told her, picturing the memory in her head. I did get embarrassed the few times I'd tell her and it wasn't actually a memory. But, the only thing that mattered was the ones that were memories. I'd already remembered most of what I had lost, so all the rest would be remembered in no time. This memory though, I wanted to remember. Demi kept telling me about it and I wanted to experience it with her. To bad life doesn't always work out like we want it too.

Chapter Twenty-Three
Nick's POV:
Demi took a seat in the sand next to me and stared out at the water for a second. She then reached into her bag and pulled out her sunglasses, slipping them on. She grabbed out a magazine and flipped it open, starting to read it. I let out a little chuckle and she looked over at me. "You're prepared, huh?" She smiled at me and looked back at her magazine. I couldn't help but stare at her. The sun was shining down on her, making her skin glow. She looked more beautiful then usual. She glanced at me and smiled a little before looking back at the magazine. I wathced her smile slowly fade away as she flipped the page. Her smile completely vanished and she looked sad, hurt. "Demi, what's wrong?"
"Another date, huh? That's what, third this week?" I gave her a confused look.
"Demi, what are you talking about?"
"Your little dates with Selena. Since when have you liked Selena? You two are all over the news. I don't know if I can do this anymore. I keep telling myself maybe you'll remember and things can go back to normal. I can't keep my promise. It's only fair. You broke yours. I don't think forever is for us, Nick." She started to put her things in her bag, not looking at me once.
"Demi, please. Don't leave. I'm sorry that I broke your promise. I didn't know this was going to happen and I was going to forget you. Please, just don't leave. I need you."
"I just, I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry, Nick. I just can't."
"What about the promise of never hurting me? You're going to break that too?"
"Some promises are meant to be broken." With that, she walked away. Out of my life, forever.
"Demi, wait! Please, don't leave!" I tried calling after her, but it was no use. "Demi, stay. Please." She ignored me and kept walking. My promises weren't the only thing that was broken. So was my heart. Forever was going to end, just like that? I needed Demi in my life. Remembering her had nothing to do with love. Love, that I already felt. The simplest things she does are what make you fall in love with her. I had fallen for her again and I didn't want to lose her. I couldn't lose her. I needed her...forever. I slowly stood up and walked along the beach. I watched the waves crash onto the shore and let a tear fall everytime. She was gone. I have to face that fact. I just wanted her to stay with me. She wasn't gone yet. I could still stop her. I ran towards the road where our cars were parked. I knew I'd be able to catch up with her. "Demi!" She looked back at me and started to run. I was faster and managed to catch up with her. I grabbed ahold of her by the waist and brought her against me. "Demi, please. You can't leave. I can't live without you. I need you, I love you. Please." Demi tried to get away from me, but I tightened my grip. "Please, Dem."
"Nick, I already told you I can't. You don't love me, you just don't want me to leave you. You keep thinking maybe our lives can go back to how they were, just so that you know everything that's happened. You don't need me, Nick. Me leaving may cause you pain, but it's nothing like the pain I'm feeling right now because of you. Just let. Me. Go." I slowly loosened my grip around her waist and she walked away from me. I watched her get into her car and drive away, leaving me to drop to the ground alone. I sat in the sand, not giving any effort to even go after her anymore. I loved her, so I was letting her go. Just like the saying. Hopefully, she'll return to me one day.

Chapter Twenty-Four
Nick's POV:
I continued to sit in the sand for awhile, before trying to stand up. My right leg was killing me and I was mad at myself for running. I can hardly walk with this stupid boot, let alone run. Sometimes, our emotions get the best of us. I grabbed out my cell phone from my pocket and checked to see if I could call somebody. I only had a bar, so I started walking down the beach a little until I gained some more. When I did, I dialed Joe's number and told him I needed picked up. He didn't ask questions, just told me he was on his way. It might have been due to the fact that I was crying a little. I never actually thought she'd leave. I figured I would've remembered way before this. Who knew it'd take so long. Now she's gone. We'll never be the way we once were, all because of me. Why did everything have to happen like this? Why did it all have to go wrong? I brought my hands up to my eyes, wiping away any remaining tears. I took a seat in the sand, facing the ocean. I closed my eyes and felt the sea breeze around me, causing goose bumps on my skin. I looked at the sunset now slowly appearing. I smiled to myself as I thought about that time before the accident. When we had said 'I love you' to eachother. That night had so many ups and downs. Why did it have to end with down? After waiting for almost twenty minutes, I heard a car door shut behind me and footsteps on the sand. I turned around to see Joe walking towards me. "Are you insane?" He said. "Out of all places, you went to a beach? There's probably loads of sand in your boot now. What about your crutches, where are they?"
"I don't need them. Can you just take me home without all the complaigning, please?" Joe held his hand out and helped me up from the ground. He started walking back to his car and I slowly followed behind him. When I finally made it to the car, I got in and buckled up. I looked over at Joe as he started the car. "Seat belt." He looked over at me and then put on his seat belt.
"Anything else I'm missing?"
"Actually, you're about to get back on the road, so you need to turn on your blinker." Joe rolled his eyes at me and flicked the blinker, before pulling out on the road. "You could also try being a little nicer."
"Well you could drop the attitude."
"I could." Joe scoffed at me.
"What up with you? You left the house all cheery and now you're the total opposite."
"I don't feel like talking about it." Joe looked over at me.
"Dude, you can tell me anything."
"Just, pay attention to the road." He looked forward again. "It's not important."
"Apparently it is." He looked back over in my direction. "Just tell me, Nick."
"No, now will you please pay attention to the road in front of you."
"Nick, calm down. I'm plenty focused on the road." He looked at me again and smiled. "I'm looking at you and still focused on the road."
"Just look forward! It's not that hard! Just because you know what's in front of you two seconds ago, doesn't mean it can't change! All you have to do is look over for five seconds! Five stupid seconds that ruined everything! I lost it all because of it! Every special moment I had with Demi is gone! All I did was look at her in that moment! If I was looking forward I would've seen the car earlier! We wouldn't have crashed! I wouldn't have lost my memory and she wouldn't have gotten hurt! We'd both be fine and Demi would still be with me! I forgot all of it. That first kiss in my room; when we'd fall asleep together and she'd be cuddled up in my arms; the way she would just smile at me and I'd smile back, like it was only us;" I started to smile a little, thinking about it," the time we tried to make breakfast and intsead had a flour fight; and Adam, I'd do anything to keep her safe from him." We sat there in silence before Joe glanced at me out of the corner of his eye and started to smile. I thought about it for a second and the realization dawned on me.
"Did you just-"
"I remember it all." I started to smile. "I rememeber all of our memories. Joe, I need you to take me to Demi's. I'm getting her back."

Chapter Twenty-Five
Demi's POV:
I drove home as fast as I could and when I walked in the door, I slammed the door behind me. My parents were in the living room and called my name as I passed through. I ignored them and stomped up the stairs to my room. I was just about to walk in my room when somebody grabbed my arm, stopping me. "What?!" I yelled turning to look at Adam.
"Your parents are calling your name. They wanted to talk to you."
"I don't care right now! Just leave me alone! What are you even doing here?! Get out!" I heard footsteps come up the stairs and my mom appeared, my dad right behind her.
"Demi, what's wrong, sweetie?" My mom said.
"Nothing! I just want to be alone!"
"Demetria, calm down." My dad said.
"Sweetie, we have guests over." My mother said, gesturing at Adam.
"I don't care!" I yelled. "They can leave!"
"Demi, stop yelling."
"No! I don't want to! Just leave me alone!" I yanked my arm away from Adam's grip and ran into my room, slamming my door behind me. I leaned against the door and slowly slid down it. My eyes started to fill with tears as I sat there alone. I just made one of the worst mistakes in my life. It was for the best though and I knew that. Although I knew I couldn't live without him, I'd try. whenever I was with him, my heart just ended up getting broken somehow. I don't need him. I DON'T need him. What a lie, I do need him. I heard a soft knock at my door and I ignored it, until the knocked again. "Go away!"
"Demi, please open the door." It wasn't my parents this time.
"No, go away!"
"Demi, just let me talk with you." I finally gave in and opened my door partially, before running over to my bed and getting under the blanket. I heard the door creak open more and footsteps come into my room. "Demi?" I heard the footsteps come into my room and somebody sit on my bed with me. I held the blanket tightly, hoping they wouldn't pull them off. I heard the laugh a little. "You're going to just stay under there? If you don't come out, I'm just going to stay here." I let go of the blanket and slowly let him pull it off of me. When the blanket was off of my face, he gave me a smile and pulled me into a hug. "Tell me what's wrong." He said.
"I broke up with Nick." He pulled me out of a hug and looked at me.
"Are you crazy? You two are like, perfect for eachother. We're finally okay with eachother and you broke up with him? Did he do something to you?" He smiled a little at his protectiveness of me. Adam really did change after awhile. They baught they're own house down here and it was only a block away. I had to get used to him eventually. Nick and Adam finally started to get along and Adam was perfectly fine with Nick and me. He was just like a brother to me and I could tell him anything.
"It's been almost two months and he still hasn't remembered. I don't even know if he's actually in love with me, or just thinks he loves me since we were dating. Then he keeps hanging out with Selena and I think something going on with them. She's my best friend. He's cheating on me with my best friend. I know he is. He doesn't love me, he loves her." Adam pulled me back into a hug as I started to cry again.
"You'll get over, Demi, he's just another guy." I nodded my head, agreeing with him. But Adam was wrong. He wasn't just another guy; he was Nick.

Chapter Twenty-Six
Nick's POV:
Joe dropped me off at Demi's and offered to stay, but I told him I would just walk home. I looked in the driveway to see if anyone was home and found only her car. I smiled to myself; only Demi was home. It'd be a lot easier to talk to her if there wasn't anybody else. I knocked on the door and waited for her to answer, but when the door swung open, it wasn't her. "Hey, Nick." Adam said. Seeing him know reminded me of the things I had remembered. The things he tried to do to Demi.
"Adam." He gave me a confused look as to why I would be mad at him, but that's because he still thought I was clueless. "I need to see Demi." He looked towards the stairs and back at me.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you do that. She wants to be alone right now."
"Let me see her."
"She told me she didn't want to talk with you if you came over."
"I don't care what she said, let me see her."
"Nick I told you she-" I took a step closer to him.
"Do you want me to punch you again?" The 'old' Adam would tell me 'bring it on', but because of the incident that happened when I 'met' him after the accident, he knew better. He was scared of me.
"She said she doesn't want to see you."
"Well I need to talk to her."
"Adam," I heard a voice, "Who's here?" I looked behind Adam to see Demi.
"Demi." She saw me and started to run upstairs. "Demi, wait! Please, let me talk to you! Demi! I remember!" She stopped in her tracks after I said that. "I remember all of it. After you broke up with me I cracked and started yelling at Joe. It all just came back to me. Even the accident." She turned around and looked at me.
"Why don't you go tell Selena?"
"Why do you keep bringing her up? She's just a friend to me Demi. I love you! Why can't you understand that?!" She looked forward, not facing my direction.
"I told you, Nick, I just can't do this anymore. Remembering everything isn't going to make me come back to you. Since I wasn't clear before, I'm telling it to you again. We're through. Just, leave."
"Demi..."
"No, Nick!" She turned back and looked at me. "I'm tired of getting my heart broken by you and you just think everything will be okay! I'm tired of crawling back to you everytime! We're done, Nick! Making promises is stupid, because they all end up broken! Go find another girl who can promise forever to you! Because I'm not anymore!" She closed her eyes for a second and then looked back at me. "I don't love you anymore, Nick! Just get out of my life forever! Can you keep that promise?! Promise to leave me alone and never come back!" She turned away from me and looked at Adam. "Shut the door."
"Demi-" Adam shut the door and I was left standing there. Demi was gone; nothing could make her come back to me.

Chapter Twenty-Seven
Nick's POV:
After leaving Demi's, my foot wouldn't let me walk all the way home, so I stopped at the coffee shop. Yes, our coffee shop. It'd held some good memories, but it wouldn't stop me from going to it. After I ordered my coffee I sat down and put my right foot on a chair next to me. It felt so good to stop walking on it. Keep walking on it probably wasn't really the best thing to do. After sitting in the shop for about 20 minutes, I saw a girl walk in. I hadn't ever seen her at this place before. She looked around my age and had long, blonde, straight hair. She was actually really pretty. But NOTHING like Demi. She walked up and ordered a coffee and started to dig around in her purse for the money. "I have enough in here somewhere." She said. She kept looking and couldn't find it. "I can't find enough. I guess I'll just, get a different one. What would be cheaper?" I grabbed a five dollar out of my pocket and walked up to the counter.
"I got it Shannon." I said. I handed her the money and she put the change in the tip jar, just like usual. I grabbed the coffee off the counter and handed it to the girl standing there. "I believe this is yours." She took it and smiled at me.
"Thank you. I'll pay you back, promise."
"Don't worry about it, it's fine."
"That really kind of you. My name is..Rachel, by the way."
"It's nice to meet you Rachel."
"Aren't you going to tell me yours?" I gave her a confused look.
"Really?"
"Well, that's how it usuallly works. I tell you mine so-"
"Sorry, I just thought-nevermind actually-it's Nick. My name's Nick."
"Nice to meet you Nick. Thank you again for paying for my coffee. You didn't have to."
"I wanted to. Are you leaving? You can come join me if you'd like." She looked at me and smiled.
"I'd love to." We walked back over to my table and took a seat.
"I've never seen you around here before."
"My mom just moved us up here from texas. She was visiting a friend for awhile and decided to stay."
"That's cool. I guess we might be seeing eachother more." She smiled at me and then got into her purse. She pulled out a paper and pen and wrote something done. She slid the paper over to me with a smile.
"That's my number, just in case you want to get ahold of me." I took the paper and put it in my pocket. Music started playing from her purse and she dug around in it for a minute, before finally pulling out her phone. She gave me a 'sorry' smile and answered it. After she hung up she turned to me with a frown. "That was my brother on the phone. I have to go. Hopefully I'll see you again sometime. It was really nice meeting you. Thanks for the coffee again." I watched her as she got up and left the coffee shop. I had a feeling the reason she gave me her number, was just in case I wanted to call her for a date. There was a problem to that; I still loved Demi and nobody could replace her.

Chapter Twenty-Eight (Season Finale)
*3 Months Later*
Nick's POV:
I stood on stage, looking at the fan packed stadium in front of me. I took off my guitar and handed it to the stage help, walking up to my microphone. I got prepared for the song I was about to sing. I stared out in the audience as if she was out there, watching me at this very moment. Singing this song to the audience, as if I was singing it to her; only her. "I wrote a song a couple weeks ago that I want to play for you tonight." I said into the microphone. I waited a second and then continued. "It's called Stay." I heard screams from the fans in front of me and then the first notes of the song start. It was just like any other night performing this. I sighed and then started to sing into the microphone.
It's hard to believe,
Where we are now.
Your hand in mine, babe,
Feels right somehow.
Now just hold still
Don't make a sound.
Its almost perfect, baby
So promise you'll never look down.
Cause we had our past, I know,
Let's leave that behind.
Cause none of it lasts,
All that we have is tonight.
Cause you're not the only one,
Who's ever felt this way.
Don't let the world cave in,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Now that the pain is done,
There's no need to be afraid.
We don't have time to waste,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Beautiful, one of a kind.
You're something special babe,
And you don't even realize
That your my hearts desire.
All that I needed and more.
I know you're scared,
But I promise, babe,
I'm not who I was before.
Cause you're not the only one,
Who's ever felt this way.
Don't let the world cave in,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Now that the pain is done,
No need to be afraid.
We don't have time to waste,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Cause you're not the only one,
Who's ever felt this way.
Don't let the world cave in,
Tell me that you'll stay.
Now that the pain is done,
No need to be, be afraid.
We don't have time to waste,
Tell me that you'll stay.
Tell me, babe, tell me that you'll stay.
Would you please, tell me.
Tell me your gonna stay.

I exited off the stage and made my way around the backstage area to my dressing room. I shut my door behind me and walked over to the vanity. I looked in the mirror and saw a figure behind me. I quickly swung around to see a girl sitting on my couch. She smiled at me when she saw me. "You were amazing out there." She said. I didn't say a word. "It's nice to see you again, Nick." She laughed a little; that wonderful laugh. "Are you surprised to see me?" I opened my mouth to say something, but I was speachless. How could she...? I finally managed to say something; the only thing I could say.
"Demi."
Nick's POV:
I stood on stage, looking at the fan packed stadium in front of me. I took off my guitar and handed it to the stage help, walking up to my microphone. I got prepared for the song I was about to sing. I stared out in the audience as if she was out there, watching me at this very moment. Singing this song to the audience, as if I was singing it to her; only her. "I wrote a song a couple weeks ago that I want to play for you tonight." I said into the microphone. I waited a second and then continued. "It's called Stay." I heard screams from the fans in front of me and then the first notes of the song start. It was just like any other night performing this. I sighed and then started to sing into the microphone.
It's hard to believe,
Where we are now.
Your hand in mine, babe,
Feels right somehow.
Now just hold still
Don't make a sound.
Its almost perfect, baby
So promise you'll never look down.
Cause we had our past, I know,
Let's leave that behind.
Cause none of it lasts,
All that we have is tonight.
Cause you're not the only one,
Who's ever felt this way.
Don't let the world cave in,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Now that the pain is done,
There's no need to be afraid.
We don't have time to waste,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Beautiful, one of a kind.
You're something special babe,
And you don't even realize
That your my hearts desire.
All that I needed and more.
I know you're scared,
But I promise, babe,
I'm not who I was before.
Cause you're not the only one,
Who's ever felt this way.
Don't let the world cave in,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Now that the pain is done,
No need to be afraid.
We don't have time to waste,
Just tell me that you'll stay.
Cause you're not the only one,
Who's ever felt this way.
Don't let the world cave in,
Tell me that you'll stay.
Now that the pain is done,
No need to be, be afraid.
We don't have time to waste,
Tell me that you'll stay.
Tell me, babe, tell me that you'll stay.
Would you please, tell me.
Tell me your gonna stay.
